Terms

Last updated 1 November 2026

Gesso is made and sold by Andrew Wilson, sole proprietor, India ("we"). These terms apply when you use the Gesso app, gesso.online or a paid plan.

Using Gesso

You may use Gesso for personal and commercial work. You need to be old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Keep your account to yourself: one account is one person, and it is signed in on one computer at a time.

Your work is yours

You own what you make in Gesso. We claim nothing in it. When you share a link, you let us host and show that copy to whoever has the link, until you turn it off.

You're responsible for what you put in your designs and what you share: you need the rights to the pictures, fonts and words you use, and shared links mustn't be used for anything unlawful, hateful, deceptive or that harms others. We may turn off a link that breaks this.

Agents

Gesso lets AI agents you choose work on your canvas. They act on your instructions, and their companies' terms apply to them. Check their work before you rely on it. An agent's whole session can be taken back with one undo.

Plans and payment

Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), our reseller and merchant of record, which also takes care of tax and receipts. Polar's buyer terms apply to the purchase itself.

Plans renew every year until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Gesso → Settings → Plan; your plan keeps working until the end of the year you've paid for, then stops renewing.

Refunds: if Gesso isn't for you, email support@gesso.online within 7 days of paying for a full refund. After that, payments aren't refunded, but you keep your plan until the end of its year. Nothing here limits a refund right the law where you live gives you.

The software

Gesso is provided as it is. We work hard to keep your files safe (the app keeps backups and a Recently deleted list), but please keep your own copies of anything important. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost work, lost profits or indirect losses. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Don't try to break, overload or get around the service's limits, or reach other people's accounts or canvases.

Gesso includes open-source software; its licences are listed in the app's notices file, including Paper Shaders (Apache 2.0).

Ending

You can stop using Gesso and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. If we ever shut the online service down, we'll give notice; the app keeps working on your computer.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, the date at the top changes, and important changes are announced in What's new. Questions: support@gesso.online.
