Vector editing
Draw paths, edit points, and work inside SVGs.
Getting started
Import an SVG
Copy an SVG and paste it with ⌘V. It arrives as editable shapes — see Paste.
Editing an SVG
Click any shape inside it. Then you can:
- move, resize and rotate it;
- change its fill — solid or gradient — and its stroke colour and width;
- edit its points (below).
Gradients have handles on the canvas while you edit them: click into the gradient in the Fill panel, then drag the handles to set where it runs.
Path editing and the pen
Press P for the pen. Click to place corner points, drag to pull out curves, and click the first point to close the shape.
To edit a path's points, select it and press ↵. Drag points to move them and drag their handles to reshape the curves. Esc leaves point editing.
A path drawn inside a frame that lays out its contents stays exactly where you drew it.
Pixel snapping
With Snap to pixel on, new shapes land on whole pixels. Toggle it from the zoom menu at the top right, or with ⇧⌘'. ⇧' shows the pixel grid.
